No trip to Paris is complete without a little R&R worthy of the Queen of Luxury herself, Marie Antoinette. And when it comes to Let Them Eat Cake opulence, the Hôtel de Crillon has been the go-to for society's best since, oh, around 1758. Talk about a mainstay.
After shuttering for renovations back in 2013, the iconic hotel, which was originally commissioned by King Louis XV, has reopened as a Rosewood property in all its grandeur (and then some!). Boasting 124 rooms (including 36 suites and 10 signature suites), four restaurants and lounges, a massive, gold-leaf pool, and even a grooming center run by France's first-ever female barber, The Crillon is certainly a throwback to the days when gilded glamour and over-the-top Parisian luxury was expected, not looked down upon. Needless to say, nothing here is low-key.
While every guest gets their own personal butler (The Plaza should take notes), high rollers can opt for a $21,250 stay in one of the suites personally designed by Chanel's Karl Lagerfeld, or quite literally live like royalty in The Suite Marie-Antoinette - inspired by the former frequent visitor. Of course the hotel's balconies and terraces also provide the most important main attraction - stunning views of the Eiffel Tower.
