Chase The Sun At Arizona's Most Luxurious New Hotel

by Guest of A Guest · March 21, 2024

Whether you're looking to escape the cold, or the monotony of New York's too-small-world feel, a flight to the southwest's new crown jewel destination is a solid idea.

A desert oasis on the outskirts of Phoenix and Paradise Valley, The Global Ambassador is the latest, most luxurious property in the Preferred Hotels & Resorts Legend Collection portfolio. Sophisticated design, exquisite accommodations, superb service, exceptional amenities, five original dining venues, breathtaking scenery - god, even a private members club! - make this hotel a must-visit.

Curious what awaits upon checking in?

    A ROOM WITH A VIEW
Every detail of the well-appointed, 141-room hotel has been thoughtfully designed for a chic, comfortable stay by debut hotelier, Sam Fox. Like, when you look in the bathroom and find a Dyson Supersonic hair dryer, it's most clear no corners were cut...

Juliet balconies feature on all standard rooms, while furnished full balconies adorn each of their suites. Stylish, commissioned artwork by Michael Carson hangs above all the beds, made up with beautiful Matouk linens.

    THINK POOL, THINK PINK
Dressed in the most perfect pink stripes, the pool is the hub of the hotel's daytime scene. The Arizona sun is prête-à-tan anytime of year, and these loungers are just the place to catch some rays. A dip in the curved pool is of course a must, which features around-the-edge seating for perching up with your Prickly Pear Frosé or Honey Lime Mojito.

Once ready to dry off, grab some shade under their orange umbrellas and tuck into a host of delightful bites from their restaurant Pink Dolphin. A chopped salad with grilled shrimp skewers and a side of tajin fries? Pollo adobada tacos with a side of tajin fries? A spiced ground beef quesadilla... with tajin fries? No matter what you order you can't go wrong - unless that is you forget to tack on their all important bowl of seasoned, fried deliciousness.

    DINING IN
Why dine out when all the best restaurants in town are under your roof?

Dinner with a view, anyone? Mediterranean rooftop spot théa is the most in-demand spot around come sunset. Grab drinks out on the wraparound terrace - they've one of the largest rosé collections in the country - and watch the sky turn into a magic purple-pink watercolor brushed above Camelback Mountain, the area's best-known peak.

Take a seat and fill your table with dish after dish of favorites from Turkey, Greece, Egypt and Spain. The charred octopus, spicy tuna sushi over crispy rice, spanakorizo, shrimp scorpio and grilled lamb chops are key notables.

For dining with a more action-filled view, Le Âme's open kitchen design makes for quite the lively scene. The elegant steakhouse is packed with Parisian vibes, from the romantically lit booths to the bustling bistro-inspired patio. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, the all-day spot is a major hub of deliciousness. In the morning, the Skin Smoothie by Dr. Augustinus Bader cannot be missed. In the afternoon, the Cacio e Pepe caesar salad is the move. And come evening, it's got to be the king crab bucatini finished off with some chocolate drizzled profiteroles.

Oh - and an Au Poivre Martini, because where else are you finding one of those?!

    PAMPERING SESSION
When traveling the hotel gym is often a thing to skip, but here, you'll be totally motivated to break a sweat.

The Global Ambassador's Wellness Center boasts everything from a state-of-the-art spa offering up Augustinus Bader facials, light therapy, lymphatic drainage massages, cryotherapy and more, to a 9,000-square-foot fitness facility scheduled with pilates and spin classes, and packed with all the machines your gym rat heart could desire.
