Musso & Frank
Musso & Frank opened its doors in 1919 on Hollywood Boulevard, years before the iconic Hollywood sign even graced the mountains above. Passed down through three generations, the restaurant has stayed true to its roots and original inception. Even after 94 years, Musso & Frank's menu of steaks, pastas and signature Flannel Cakes today remains largely unchanged and the ambiance is tinged with nostalgia of the Hollywood Golden Age. [Photo Via] The wooden panels and high-beamed ceilings add to the vintage feel of the restaurant, as do waiters' matching red suit jackets and black bow ties. If you like your drinks straight up, look no further: longtime barman Ruben Rueda will serve you the classics just as he did back in 1967 when he started mixing drinks there, unaffected by the current mixology craze. Musso & Frank's old-school service and classic cinematic atmosphere is a far cry from the tourist traps on Hollywood Boulevard. And with the same man behind the bar making your cocktail as its patrons of the 60s, you know you'll be getting the authentic drinking experience of this Hollywood landmark.
