NoMad London
The NoMad London occupies the former Bow Street Magistrates Court in center-of-it-all neighborhood, Covent Garden. History runs through the building's veins — in fact, among many other tribunals, the prosecution of Oscar Wilde took place here.
Design pundits Roman and Williams conjured a bohemian-tinged interior that celebrates the idea of thoughtful repurposing: Former magistrates, clerks' offices, and jail cells have transformed into welcoming, sun-spilling spaces chock full of eclectic trappings and art stemming from the Abstract Impressionist Movement (each guestroom has at least 18 pieces, including collages, photographs, watercolors, and ceramics). The hotel's locus is its eponymous restaurant, set in a spacious, garden-like atrium with a skyscraping greenhouse-style ceiling.
