As it happens, this weekend also saw a series of protests denouncing wealth disparity and land usage in the Hamptons.
On Friday, activists from New York Communities for Change and the Shinnecock Nation, who have frequently fought to protect their sacred grounds, blocked traffic for a peaceful protest in Southampton Village. The police were called and activist Becky Genia was arrested.
