Need we say it - Taylor wrote a song egregiously attacking her ex after they broke up. The song, called "Dear John," a little more obvious than her typical break-up tune, stated his name. Upon hearing the song, John felt "humiliated." He shared that "It made [him] feel terrible, because [he] didn't deserve it. . . It was a really lousy thing for her to do."
Mayer took that sinking feeling and gave Tay a taste of her own medicine by writing the song "Paper Doll," about her. The chorus reads "You're like 22 girls in one" while a verse insists "Someone's gonna paint you another sky" (an answer to her "Dear John" lyric “You paint me a blue sky and go back and turn it to rain”).
Props to you Tay, it takes a lot for me to side with John Mayer in an argument.
