About a year ago, the indie darling and frontman of Grizzly Bear took to twitter in response to the rash of celebrity appearances on Tay's stage during her 1989 tour. Tay's tiresome display of her pull in the industry led Droste to tweet "I've lost a lot of respect for a shit ton of thirsty celebs this week."
Swift fans, of course, swarmed and attacked him with slurs. He then tweeted in reply "FYI: bc I took a stance, TS fans have called me faggot, ugly, dirty Jew, and the works! Gorgeous fan base!" He then went to tweet about times he has come across the songstress, whom he called a "monster." He shared that he had been "barked at, stood in front of, interrupted, scowled at, [and] pointed and laughed at for spilling 1/5 a drink at 3 am @ [a] party of 1000" by Swift.
After Droste's rant, Este Haim, member of the band Haim and hyper-visible bestie of Taylor, unfollowed Droste with whom she was once also close friends. Ed Droste definitely noticed and tweeted "God bless . . . all the real friends out there" i.e. those whom T. Swift doesn't keep on a leash.
Cheers to you Ed and your 20/20 foresight. Feel free to tell the public at large you told us so!
