Private Jet Weddings Are Now A Thing (& It'll Only Cost You $28,000)

Well this is certainly a new kind of "mile high club."

Since the pandemic began, couples have been getting creative with their wedding ceremonies, from streaming them on Zoom to saying "I do" on the rooftop of their apartment building. But soon-to-be-newlyweds with a taste for adventure - and deep pockets - now have a more luxurious way to circumvent both travel and wedding restrictions in the age of COVID: getting married on a private jet.

U.S. company Air Charter Service is now offering "Wedding in the Sky" packages, giving couples the chance to host their nuptials aboard one of their plush private jets, 30,000 feet in the air. 

While the experience is essentially a two-hour flight to nowhere, the guests of honor can request to fly over spots of significance to them, and, for a cool $28,000 includes seating for 16, a chauffeur to take the couple to and from their airport of choice, champagne, canapés, personalized wedding favors for the full wedding party,  flower arrangements, a customized playlist, and a crew member to unofficially take on the role of an officiant.

Considering the average cost for a wedding in the U.S. was nearly $34,000 last year, the price tag isn't so shocking (because, after all, there is jet fuel involved), but it's definitely not the reception you'd typically get for your money. Nevertheless, there is a slightly cheaper, and more intimate, option called the "Just the Two of Us" elopement package, which starts at $18,000.

In any case, your special day is sure to be a memorable one - especially if you get to make things "official" in the cabin bathroom. Wink wink.
