Not even certified American royalty (or actual royalty, for that matter) could avoid pandemic restrictions on their wedding day, but, downsized guest list or not, the latest Kennedy wedding was a chic society affair.
Last month, Eunice Kennedy Shriver, the 26-year-old granddaughter and namesake of Eunice Kennedy, the legendary philanthropist who founded the Special Olympics, said "I do" to beau Michael “Mikey” Serafin Garcia in an intimate ceremony at St. Patrick's church in Miami. And while COVID caused the couple to scale back what was originally set to be a 200-guest event, the celebration was just as magical, even with just immediate family in attendance.
The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father, Anthony Shriver, and shared more than just his mother's name on the big day - Eunice even donned her grandmother's Dior wedding dress, originally worn 67 years before when the OG Eunice wed Sargent Shriver in 1953. Coincidentally enough, the two generations matched in height and frame, so the gown fit perfectly, although the bride worked with Ever After Miami to restore it and create a matching bodice and veil.
As for her other something borrowed - and something blue - Eunice rolled up to the church in the baby blue 1965 Lincoln Continental convertible gifted to her grandmother by her grandfather, which her dad has kept in pristine condition. We're sure the groom, the president and CEO of luxury car dealership Ocean Automotive Group, especially appreciated the swanky retro ride.
Afterwards, the happy newlyweds took to Instagram to share some snaps from the occasion, where plenty of the bride's famous relations, including aunt Maria Shriver and cousin Patrick Schwarzenegger, took to the comments to wish them well.
