Like many couples, Mackenzie Newcomb and Ben Jerrom's wedding, planned for September 19th in Brooklyn, was quickly complicated by the pandemic. At first the two decided to push their nuptials to the following year. But ultimately, after they packed up their home in New York, bounced between multiple rental houses in Mackenzie's hometown area in Massachusetts, weathered the sad passing of Ben's father, and had an unexpected flood destroy a number of their most cherished things, the two were more certain than ever that they wanted to be married.
"My grandparents had just moved into this waterfront property," says Mackenzie, the Founder of Bad Bitch Book Club and Co-host of Friends to Lovers Podcast. "Ben's dad had just passed away, and when we saw the place we were like, 'We need to get married here.' So we planned a wedding in 3 weeks!"
It was the beautiful 75 degree day with not a cloud in the sky when Mackenzie and Ben said "I do," at her grandparents Crow Point home in Hingham, Massachusetts earlier this month. A family-only affair that the bride and her mother quickly planned to perfection.
