Candidate Crush: Beto O'Rourke Is The Hot Skater Senator This Country Needs

While Cynthia Nixon is shaking things up right here in New York, Texas has its own cool kid candidate who, dare we say it, could even be the next Obama.

Democrat Robert Francis "Beto" O'Rourke is currently running against Republican incumbent Ted Cruz for Texas's United States Senate seat, and, even in the overwhelmingly red state, he may just have a chance. The 45-year-old congressman has closed the gap in the polls, falling behind Cruz by just 1%. It's not hard to figure out why. Not only has he never been accused of being the Zodiac Killer, Beto is also super tall and hot, a longtime skateboarder, and a stark supporter of civil rights. He was also in a rock band once.
