Irish Whiskey Public House is now open at 1207 19th Street NW, just around the corner from its popular sister bar The Mighty Pint.
Their signature trait is their vast collection of whiskeys--over 50! However, it's a great spot for anyone, whether you love or hate whiskey.
Last night was their media preview party, and Guest of a Guest got to go and sample some of their goodies. I was not a fan of whiskey, but they turned me into a whiskey fan with their martini-esque Brotherhood cocktail (and their Irish cream concoctions, the Irish Triathlon and the Shamrock).
To counter the effects of their strong drinks, there were some samples from their food menu. The pan seared filet mignon with Irish cheddar potato cake was drizzled in the most amazing Irish Whiskey Cream Sauce. I highly recommend the dish if you go there!

The decor of the new place is amazing. Irish Whiskey Public House was designed by Maggie O'Neill of O'Neill Studios--Irish herself, obviously. It has a very cozy, rustic lodge feel to it, but still feels fresh and cosmopolitan.
This is the latest in a string of really cool concept bars/clubs in DC, and we are loving it.
