Move over, cupcakes. The NYC sensation, Tasti D-Lite, is taking DC by storm. The sweet treat is only 100 calories per serving (some are only 70!) with no artificial sweeteners, and it tastes really good!
Right now there are locations in Dupont Circle (2029 P NW) and in the Georgetown Law School cafeteria. Soon, there will be one in Columbia Heights (3100 14th). According to a press release, at least 25 Tasti D-Lites expected to open in Maryland, Washington, D.C. and Delaware over the next 10 years.
Annapolis resident and area businessman Greg Karanzalis, 28, is one of the entrepreneurs behind the two new Tasti D-Lite centers in D.C. (the Dupont and Columbia Heights locations). Fun fact: he and his wife just has their first baby--a little girl--this week!
Tasti D-Lite is available in traditional ice cream cup-or-cone form, in cake form, or as a blended milkshake-style drink.
