On Friday, Georgetown University's Party-For-A-Cause (PFC) threw their annual formal in conjunction with Georgetown's Homecoming Weekend 2012. The mission of Party-For-A-Cause, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is to empower and encourage college students to participate in and create events that raise money and awareness for charitable causes.

This year's homecoming formal benefited Georgetown special interest charity, Elizabeth's Hope. Founded by Elizabeth Minter, Elizabeth's Hope is dedicated to finding cures for inoperable brain tumors in children and adolescents. In collaboration with neuroscience researcher and pediatric neurosurgeon Jeffrey Greenfield, MD, PhD, of The Weill Cornell Children’s Brain Tumor Project, Elizabeth’s Hope funds groundbreaking research for unique brain tumors that affect the young.
Georgetown students, alumni and friends came dressed to the nines at the Smithsonian National Postal Museum to celebrate the night away....and what a party it was! This sold-out event took place in a beautiful gallery space and guests enjoyed an open bar, delicious treats and a live band.
Those close to Elizabeth spoke touching words about their friend, who lost her battle with cancer in May 2012, and the incredible cause her foundation supports. To learn more about Elizabeth's Hope, go HERE.
Georgetown's PFC is known for throwing some of the best charity events for students, friends and young alumni and we can't wait for the next party with a purpose!
