On Friday night, Susan G. Komen for the Cure presented the third annual Honoring the Promise Gala at The Kennedy Center. Just in time for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, guests arrived dressed to the nines in their best pink attire for an evening of cocktails, performances and fun. The gala event honors those paving the way to a cure and the night raised $1.5 million for Susan G. Komen's breast cancer programs globally and in Washington, DC.

The Honoring the Promise Gala brings together the heroes of the breast cancer movement for a celebratory evening of inspiration and world-class entertainment. Founder and CEO of the Susan G. Komen Foundation, Nancy G. Brinker, walked the 'Pink Carpet' alongside lead performer Jordin Sparks, the faces of the Susan G. Komen campaign, important philanthropic and political leaders and other VIPs.

At the star-studded evening, Kennedy Center Chairman David Rubenstein served as founding chair for the event and Bob Schieffer of CBS News emceed the evening as Master of Ceremonies. The Susan G. Komen Foundation has donated over $2 billion dollars to breast cancer education, awareness and research.
