Global non-profit Echoing Green launched its Washington-based chapter last night at Edelman. Echoing Green provides funding and mentoring to social entrepreneurs who have breakthrough ideas to solve the world’s biggest problems. Guests enjoyed cocktails provided by Glenfiddich and the Distilled Spirits Council of the United States, and bites from Roti.
Echoing Green's social innovators have gone on to launch and lead some of today’s most important social enterprises throughout the world, including Teach For America, Embrace, City Year, College Summit, and One Acre Fund. Since 1987, Echoing Green has invested $31 million to help more than 450 social entrepreneurs create positive change in 40 countries.
With the launch of the DC chapter, young leaders in DC will now be able to join the group's Social Investment Council and use their expertise to advise Echoing Green fellows.
