Science Club is always a good choice for those of us seeking good music and cheap drinks in an unpretentious, unique atmosphere. And this is what makes it the perfect venue for an intimate fundraising happy hour.
Last night’s happy hour, benefiting the Canvas Art program at Cultural Canvas: Thailand, was hosted by PR maven and DC This Week founder Jade Floyd.
Guests were asked to bring donation money or a a bag of art supplies for the children at Canvas Art. All funds, crayons, and coloring books will accompany Jade to Thailand in December on an art relief volunteer trip.
DJ Trevor Martin manned the music in Science Club’s intimate back room as guests mingled, drank, and ate. Although the crowd was small in number, it was huge in heart, and as wine and beer flowed so did conversation, laughter, and aid for the Canvas Art Program.
Science Club kept guests full and tipsy with discounted drinks and appetizers (who would have thought that a seemingly grungy Foggy Bottom bar would serve such delicious and healthy snacks?)
Among the ranks were media gurus, reigns of real estate, Hill execs, and more. The engaged and energetic crowd maintained a lively atmosphere as relaxed beats pounded throughout Science Club’s many cozy chambers, and a great time was had by everyone in attendance.
