Rosa Mexicano - 575 7th Street NW
Thanks to a menu revamp by chef-lebrity Jonathon Waxman, this upscale Mexican restaurant and bar serves classically traditional dishes with modern twists in cities across the country. There are two locations in Washington DC, but the Rosa Mexicano in Penn Quarter is our favorite thanks to the constant hustle and bustle of 7th Street (the other one is in Chevy Chase). Although a dining venue mainly inhabited by tourists, this Chinatown eatery is loved by locals for their guacamole (made table-side) and their outstandingly sweet pomegranate margaritas.
