Khajuraho Group of Monuments (a.ka. Kama Sutra temple), India
That Kama Sutra Temple you’ve heard people talk about is no myth. Deemed one of the Seven Wonders of India, it is now officially recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Though only 10% of the actual statues depict what we now know as kama sutra, this has been the biggest tourist draw. The other 90% of sculptures are all of deities and every day life of civilians. These temples took 200 years to build, starting in 950 to 1150 AD. It’s definitely a nice little stop to make if you find yourself in Delhi and are willing to travel 385 miles for a little bit of inspiration.
