Honestly, I have been out of the loop for awhile and have zero idea who Lana Del Rey is, other than a singer that my L.A. editor Emily Green decided to name an official day after; and a performer on SNL that I couldn't distinguish between whether she was real or part of a skit. That being said, Del Rey is showing up EVERYWHERE this week after releasing a new album.

A commenter on the video's YouTube page who alleges s/he went to boarding school with the former Lizzy Grant sums it up well:
She went to my boarding school for high school. She's absolutely not from a trailer park. She is an actress, a performer, and if she did indeed live in a trailer park, it was for inspiration -- not out of desperation. You can tell from this clip that she is acting. It's almost a little freaky how she seems to be trying to emanate someone or something she has seen. But as her interviews have said, she lives in a fantasy.
