An intimate film portrait of Rick Owens and his wife Michele Lamy

An intimate film portrait of Rick Owens and his wife Michele Lamy [AnotherMag] I first met Rick and Michele at their incredible home (a five-story mansion in the Seventh Arrondissement of Paris) where they live and work.  Michele has been a very good friend of my husband's for quite some time, having met him in Los Angeles back when she ran the hottest restaurant there, Les Duex. On a cold Parisian night, Michele greeted us at the door wearing 6 inch platform booties, and a long nun's habit. Everything else was covered in darkness, from her nails to her teeth. I was more than a little intrigued. In the hours that followed, I was delighted to find out that Michele was one of the most engaging and warm person I've ever met. I could spend days listening to her recounting tales from far off lands in her most distinct raspy/sexy voice. It was with great excitement that I watched her and Rick in this video today on Another Mag. Video HERE Their world of fashion, art, and friends is a fascinating one. I will never pass up a dinner with these two creative forces.
“It’s kind of like asking a fascist and a gypsy to organise a war together,” says the designer, deadpan. “She’s just so generous and so flexible with deadlines and I’m not. She likes the complexity and eccentricity of working with artisans and I don’t always have the patience for that. The furniture is customised, esoteric, involves rare materials. She loves that.” Here meanwhile, in this intimate film portrait by Danielle Levitt, is how Owens sums up his aesthetic: “I like classicism. I like historic reference. I like if there is something new with something almost ancient.”
