Did you know that this year will mark Barilla’s eighth annual Pasta World Championship? A spectacularly delicious event featuring some of the most skilled young chefs from around the globe, it's like your favorite Food Network competition come to life - but better!

Eager to participate in the highly respected contest, eight talented young chefs just went head to head at the U.S. Qualifying Event. An intense culinary showdown that took place at the Inn at Spanish Bay during the VIP Opening Night festivities of the 12th annual Pebble Beach Food & Wine Festival in Pebble Beach, California. 

Barilla collaborated with experts from Food & Wine magazine and other chefs in the industry to carefully select the skilled contestants, all of whom whipped up unique and innovative pasta dishes - featuring Collezione, Barilla's artisanal line of pasta - throughout the evening to wow a crowd of VIP guests and a panel of discerning judges that included Food & Wine Editor-In-Chief Hunter LewisCelebrity Chef Antonia LofasoBarilla Executive Chef Lorenzo Boni, 2018 Master of Pasta Chef Carolina Diaz and Chef Steve Samson.

While Private chef Brandon Rosen and his Ocean’s Carbonara won the People's Choice award, Chef Sean Turner took home the coveted title of U.S. Master of Pasta with his Bucatini Pistachio Pesto, which means he'll have the exciting task of representing the U.S. at the Barilla Pasta World Championship in Paris this October. We can’t wait to follow his journey this fall!
