Supermodels, royalty, a performance by Pharrell - Karl wouldn't have wanted it any other way. Four months after the loss of the icon, the fashion industry came together in Paris on Thursday to celebrate Lagerfeld's life and legacy. Because mourning isn't very Chanel.

This send-off, however, certainly was. Fittingly held at the Grand Palais, the stunning venue Karl had transformed for so many of his fashion shows, the "Karl For Ever" tribute event saw so many of his favorite muses, friends, and frequent front row faces, it almost seemed like the invitations were sent out by the man himself. Gigi Hadid, Anna Wintour, Claudia Schiffer, Carla Bruni, and Princess Caroline of Monaco were all in attendance, along with Lagerfeld's fellow design maestros, Valentino Garavani and Giambattista Valli.

Tilda Swinton, Cara Delevingne, and Helen Mirren took to the stage in their haute Chanel best to speak, while world-renowned pianist Lang Lang, Pharrell Williams, and a troupe of flamenco dancers (apparently a secret favorite of Lagerfeld) paid tribute with performances.

The evening ended with some words from the man of the hour, as a montage of footage from various interviews showcased his signature humor and aphoristic wit. A blooper reel showed Karl laughing at himself, and rather than cry, the crowd laughed along with him.
