Do you think that the couples in The Notebook, Twilight, or Titanic would have had the epic romances they did if their first conversation began with "Hey, how are you?" I wouldn't know because I've never seen those movies. However, I'm sure none of those relationships began with "Hey, how are you?" Like, what do you want me to say to that? Fine? Good?
