The House

The HouseIf you're missing Uptown's historical buildings, alleviate your nostalgia at The House. This beautifully restored carriage house from 1854 now holds a restaurant spanning all three of its floors. Located in Gramercy Park, it provides a romantic contrast to the surrounding high-rises and an oasis from the chaos of Union Square. The house lasagna with wild boar, the farro risotto with butternut squash, the more reasonably-priced truffled mac and cheese: all are delicious. Well-worth calling ahead for a reservation for the one coveted half-moon window seat! The House, 121 E. 17th Street, New York [Photo via @nathannutterhair]
