If there was ever a reason to re-watch The Craft and start practicing your chanting, this is it.
Accused sexual assaulter Brett Kavanaugh has officially been confirmed to the Supreme Court, proving once and for all that women are an afterthought in this country. Cool.
Needless to say, this outcome has a lot of people angry, including the witches of New York City. That's why, on October 20th, they're inviting equally as enraged people to join them for a public hexing of the judge at Catland Books, Brooklyn's hub for all things magick and metaphysical.
We mean, when protesting won't stop the patriarchy, it's time to tap into some stronger forces.
According to the event page, Kavanaugh "will be the focal point, but by no means the only target, so bring your rage and and all of the axes you've got to grind. There will also be a second ritual afterward - 'The Rites of the Scorned One' which seeks to validate, affirm, uphold and support those of us who have been wronged and who refuse to be silent any longer."
Catland is suggesting a $10 ticket price, and will be donating 50% of all proceeds to charity - both to the Ali Forney Center and Planned Parenthood. But, no one will be turned away for a lack of funds.
FYI, you don't have to be a practicing witch to turn your anger into power, so, hey, use this as an excuse to finally wear some black lipstick and hang out in Bushwick, all while putting that rage to good use.
