Other details: Last night the U.S Open kicked off with a special Opening Night Gala hosted by the tournaments official champagne sponsor Moet & Chandon. In the Presidential Suite, Kevin Spacey, the Bryan brothers, and Billie Jean King took part in an auction to benefit USTA Serves. A highlight of the auction was one year of the champagne, with 365 bottles presented to the winner. At the Moet Suite, celebrities including Cuba Gooding Jr. and Kelly Bensimon gathered to watch the matches until the rain started forcing the action to be cancelled for the evening. Nonetheless, they stuck around to enjoy the drinks and celebrate the return of the prestigious tournament.
