Maison Kayser is an artisanal boulangerie chain dotted all over Paris and was our go-to for delectable chocolate almond croissants back when we were studying abroad. Thankfully, because this is New York after all, Maison Kayser has opened not one, but six, outposts in Manhattan! Our personal favorite is the Upper East Side location at Third Ave and 87th Street. The monochrome interior decorations and classic street café chairs give the boulangerie a distinctly French feel, and you're almost one hundred percent sure to find yourself in the company of a French expat or two. Indulge in a full breakfast with an orange pressée, couple of espressos, a smoked salmon tartine, fresh fruit salad, and maybe a brioche or two.
