New York City's most valuable - and crowded - place is its streets, so when seven miles get opened for people to bike, run, skate, walk and play, everyone tries to make the most out of it. The idea is to provide space for healthy recreation and encourage New Yorkers to use more sustainable forms of transportation. Not only were people able to go from the Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park without having to deal with any cars, but there was also a giant water slide waiting at the end of the line. We think Summer Streets is a really good idea and that it should happen every single weekend (giant snowball fight, anyone?). Click through to see the reasons why!
