Bushwick Country Club
Self-described “craptacular dive bar,” Bushwick Country Club‘s rise to fame is tied to the invention of the infamous pickleback shot. Owner John Roberts traces the origins of this briney whiskey special back to 2006, when a bartender was brilliantly inspired by a customer to chase a shot of whiskey with the only thing on hand — pickle juice. We don’t really need to say much else about BCC, except that no one here takes themselves seriously whatsoever, which we’re pretty sure makes for the best time.
