Georgia Room & Bar Calico
After dinner, head upstairs for a drink (or five) at the expansive new lounge spaces from the trio behind Authentic Hospitality (that would be nightlife gurus Matt Kliegman, Carlos Quirarte, and Matthew Charles).
The entire floor has been transformed into a stylish drinking den with two distinct venues, Georgia Room and Bar Calico, together totaling 8,000 square feet of chic hangout space. The team, along with interior designer Melissa Bowers, tapped the sultry desert vibes of the American Southwest and the artwork of iconic painter Georgia O'Keeffe to revitalize the building's original 1930s architecture with fresh upgrades and warm accents.
"The building itself has such great bones and lent us a lot of variety in terms of design for both Georgia Room and Bar Calico," says Bowers. "For our design aesthetic we really focused on the environmental surroundings within New Mexico - an energy you wouldn’t typically feel in a New York City lounge, it’s quite serene. Taking motifs from Ms. O’Keeffe we were able to repurpose a lot of existing furniture that really gives off a Sante Fe desert vibe while allowing us to be responsibly conscious. The space is festive, colorful and full of culture."
