This New Speakeasy Is Hidden Behind A Wall Of Fancy Chocolate Bars

The perfect provisions shop has everything a foodie could ask for: artisanal cheeses, small batch cookies, gourmet charcuterie, creative condiments, a range of local epicurean goods to discover. You know, all those fun, bougie bites with labels that make you say, "Huh, I should try this!"

Lucky for us, the shelves at Pine & Polk are stocked with all of the above (and more!). Nevertheless, it's what's behind the shelves that really has people buzzing.

The new women-led retail shop from best friends-turned-business partners Lindsay Weiss and Alyssa Golub not only boasts high-end snacks and products from female and minority-owned businesses, but also... a secret speakeasy! 

Hidden behind a wall (well, door) of fancy chocolate bars is PS (short for Pacific Standard), a swanky cocktail bar serving up whimsical sips and delicious bites for some post-shopping indulgence. 

The 1,500-square-foot oasis is helmed by Bar Director Melissa Brooke, Executive Chef Ali Ghriskey, and General Manager Aimee Ollman, who have teamed up on a range of unique cocktails, creative dishes, and grazing boards made with fresh, seasonal ingredients (including some that are available for purchase in-store).

To turn your shopping day into an evening rendezvous, find the chocolates and slip into the moody space, which is decked out in a palette of rich jewel tones and polished accents of brass and gold. Nosh on one of their curated boards (which include everything from cheese, seafood, and veggies to dessert) and wash it all down with a specialty martini or playful signature cocktail such as the High Tea Negroni or A Splendid Day, a boozy take on a matcha latte, served like a sundae.

Let's just say this ideal two-in-one is sure to make your grocery run a lot more exciting!
