NYC Nightlife Weekly Roundup

by Rachelle Hruska · February 9, 2009

I'm dubbing this past week "The calm before the storm."  Because although we had enough going on to keep our little guests of guests busy, this week (NYC Fashion Week, AND Social Media Week) is going to be sheer insanity.  Thankfully, I've been preparing myself with emergen-c drinks all weekend. A look back....

Our favorite nightlife king, uncle Steve Lewis celebrated his birthday at Greenhouse.  Loads of young women flocked the nightclub to toast the legend, along with listen to his skills on the turntables. [Steve Lewis' Birthday Celebration]

Speaking of Birthdays, a much younger nightlife character, DJ Nick Cohen was born on the exact same day as Steve! [Happy Birthday DJ Nick Cohen!]

And everyone's favorite financial blogger, John Carney also rang in another big year, with a "Clusterstock" of admirers in the LES. [John Carney's Birthday Celebration]

The premiere of The College Humor Show on MTV brought the media elite to the IAC building to watch Julia Allison jump for joy at the sound of Barry Diller's voice. [College Humor Party]

We asked, you answered.  Just which nightclub has the best Mascot.  With Mr. Pink Elephant up to his old shenanigans (he was spotted sledding this week!), it was a unanimous vote. [Best Mascot?]

The Black Eyed Peas and the newly wed Fergie gave back at their 5th Annual Peapod Foundation's Benefit Concert. [The Black Eyed Peas Party]

Redheads make up less than 2% of the population.  It was about time someone threw a party to celebrate them. [Save The Redheads At Cain]

The Plaza's Oak Room may not be where you envision watching a sporting event known for it's beer guzzling fans, but Peggy Siegel's SuperBowl Soriee brought together NYC's media and literary elite. [Super Bowl Sunday Soiree At The Plaza]

Will.i.am kick started Grammy Week in LA with a presentation of visual and musical artists for Worlds on Fire. [Will.i.am Kicks Off Grammy Week]

There's a new Monday night party in town.  Look out Butter, The Eldridge is ready to take over [The New Monday Night Party]

Red Bull's giant Snowscraper on the East River Park put on quite the show Thursday night. [Red Bull Snowscraper]

It was another Cray Cray night with Six Six Sick and Disco Down at Happy Ending [Happy Ending]

Finally, which chick flick brought out the biggest Hollywood names? He's Just Not That Into You Premiere or The Confessions of a Shopoholic?
