The John Dory Oyster Bar
The John Dory Oyster Bar in the Ace Hotel serves a special oyster happy hour from 5-7pm with a choice of half-dozen oysters or clams and cocktails. John Dory's won't accept reservations unless you are a hotel guest so it is a first come first clams basis.
Shell out? During the summer, John Dory's east coast oysters from Long Island are worth shelling out for. These 'genuine' bluepoint oysters come from the south bay of Long Island and have a bit of a sweet tang to them.
