It's been a month since Italia Independent opened its first NYC boutique in SoHo during the rush of Fashion Week. On the corner of Mercer and Spring, this prime spot of real estate will only help the brand inch closer to their position as a huge contender in the accessories market in the city. Lady Gaga, Rihanna, and yours truly have donned their spectacles as of late - most of which are treated with new technology familiar in the automotive world. It's no wonder one of the founders, Lapo Elkann, is the great great grandson of the founder of Fiat. Italia Independent loves pushing the boundaries of eyeglasses and is constantly innovating and creating new treatments and applications for them. We had a chance to catch up with founder Andrea Tessitore to talk glasses, collabs, and launching into the American market.
