Is that why the timing for Haculla clothing is right?
HG: No, I think the timing for Haculla is right because there are only a couple of brands based out of New York that are doing really well, like Supreme and Alife. Most of the brands that are doing really well are California based. In California you have Diamond, LRG, The Hundreds, they're all California based companies. I just wanted to do something that was New York. That's why I started two companies.
Aside from streetwear, what brands do you personally like?
HG: I like Saint Laurent, I like Balmain, Chanel of course. I like what Chanel stands for, I like the fact that a woman who had no last name was rejected and mocked by royalty and upper class, and somehow her name became to stand for the highest class people. And I think her persistence and determination is pretty much unmatched in fashion.
I also see a Versace tattoo on your hand.
HG: Yea, I'm a big fan of Gianni Versace, his early designs are amazing. I've always been a fan of cool clothing, my mom was into clothing and making clothing for my sisters. We didn't have much money so she would make the clothes.
