Back in June, the Instagram followers of Marissa Fuchs (a.k.a. @fashionambitionist) were captivated by the live proposal-slash-scavenger-hunt-slash-impromptu-wedding set up by her boyfriend (now husband), Gabriel Grossman. #WheresGabe became the hashtag du jour as she ran from a Flywheel class to the Hamptons to Miami to Paris, where she eventually said "I do." It seemed like a truly fun and romantic stunt pulled by her beau, but it was soon revealed to be just that - a stunt. Anyone who was following along couldn't have missed the extensive brand placements in the stories and soon after it all went down, a pitch deck that had been sent to brands was revealed, making many of her followers believe it was all an elaborate marketing scheme. (Then again, isn't everything an influencer does some sort of marketing scheme?) Fuchs maintains that she was not involved in pitching it out, but the damage was done. Page Six claimed that she was "exiled" in Montauk and her former position as a director at Goop is no longer listed in her Instagram bio, after the company launched an internal review.
