In the cult classic movie, Things To Do In Denver When You’re Dead, they have a motto they say whenever there is a serious or confounding topic: “Give it a name.” The literal translation of this is, “tell it like it is,” or identify the root cause in your mind. So, to your question, I say give it a name. In this case, the name is shame.
This sounds like a case of the self-loathing, self-judging should’ve, could’ve, would’ves. I actually hear your inner voice saying, “Hey, Slacker! Instead of idly thumbing through Instagram, you should be studying A Course in Miracles, meditating every morning, and doing 6 hours a day of Melissa Wood Health exercise videos.”
