Welcome to the future of financial crime!

On Tuesday, federal agents arrested a Manhattan couple on charges of laundering around $4.5 billion (yes, with a B!) in Bitcoin, stolen during a massive 2016 hack of Hong Kong-based virtual currency exchange, Bitfinex. The duo is accused of conspiring to "wash" 119,754 Bitcoin through a way-too-elaborate-to-follow scheme, using fake identities, multiple online accounts, and shady cyber software. And they would've gotten away with it too if it weren't for those meddling IRS, FBI, and Department of Homeland Security agents!
