"The Incident"
Despite going to the exec who hired him and asking to be removed from Team 007, Blumenthal was not reassigned. What followed was "the incident."
After drinking in the office for "First Friday," a dozen or so Goldman employees continued on to the bar of a local restaurant. There, Blumenthal alleges, his supervisor started banging on the bar, insisting he'd "teach him how to drink." Then he punched Blumenthal in the stomach.
He demanded Blumenthal punch him back. When he didn't, Erukhimov launched into an aggressive wrestling attack, allegedly locking him in a chokehold for so long Blumenthal lost consciousness, urinated, and suffered from a lack of oxygen to his brain. No one called an ambulance.
When he woke up, Blumenthal found himself at his attacker's apartment, where he was threatened not to tell management.
WHEW. And you thought your boss was bad.
