As a busty bitch who fluctuates between sizes, reading reviews is absolutely key for me. As long as a style has been in rotation for a few weeks, it probably has some reviews. Waiting around for reviews might prevent you from ordering new arrivals, but it doesn’t have to.
If you see something you’re interested in renting that doesn’t have reviews, it’s still possible to see how it’s going to run. Filter the selection by the designer of that item, and look for similar styles. Read the reviews for that! While it isn’t always a perfect solution, it’s a lot better than going in completely blind. For example the brands Reformation, Black Halo and Likely almost always requires a size-up, while Kate Spade and Joie are brands you can usually size-down in.
