From dazzling jewels to haute couture interpretations of Lady Liberty, Dolce & Gabbana's fashion-filled visit to the Big Apple has been anything but touristy. "We’re looking at New York with Italian eyes," Domenico Dolce told Vogue in regards to their four-day takeover of the city in honor of their internationally renowned Alta Moda presentations. For the first time ever, the Italian design house has taken to the U.S. fashion capital to fete their highest of high-end collections, resulting in a series of stunning runway shows and celeb-filled bashes.
On Friday, the glamorous festivities kicked off with the Alta Gioielleria presentations and a gala co-hosted by none other than Sarah Jessica Parker. Glittering jewelry creations adorned artwork made from recycled books at the iconic New York Public Library. On Saturday, menswear reigned supreme at the Rainbow Room, where everyone from Nick Jonas to Isabella Rossellini took in the Alta Sartoria pieces. Of course, the night couldn't be complete without a performance by Liza Minnelli.
The main and most-anticipated event, however, went down on Sunday inside the Metropolitan Opera, where the likes of Naomi Campbell, Karlie Kloss, Joan Smalls, and Karen Elson strutted their stuff in the couture Alta Moda collection. Stars including Diane Kruger, Dakota Fanning, and Catherine Zeta Jones made their way through Lincoln Center for the fete, which ended with a flare of red fireworks and even included a public display in the famous courtyard.
While we await Dolce & Gabbana's farewell Monday night rager at the Top of The Standard, let's relive a few of the weekend's most stylish highlights.
