Last night the new cultural website The Thick launched with a party at Paul's Baby Grand. The editorial platform, which is part of The Wall Group, took over the lush Tribeca hotspot for a wild night with a gorgeous downtown crowd. Guests immediately indulged in glasses of champagne, along with the sliders and french fries that were going around. The room was filled with an array of people, with off-duty photographers, stylists, designers, and media personalities taking part in the celebration. Danielle and Jodi Snyder from Dannijo stopped by early on to hang out with the founders, while photographer Cass Bird had a team of ladies in the back of the room who managed to radiate good vibes the entire night. May Kwok rolled through late in the evening with stylist Ian Bradley, just as fellow DJ Kitty Cash hopped on the decks to spin a fun set.
Been Trill's Heron Preston came out to catch up with The Thick creative director Bramble Trionfo and editor-at-large Ali Bird, as editor Anthony Rotunno told us about the concept of the site. The Wall Group used their extensive contacts within different cultural industries to create a platform where artists, designers, and other creatives can control the dialogue. The first feature has stylist and television personality Rachel Zoe having a candid conversation with stylists Jill Lincoln and Jordan Johnson, and while we can't give away an spoilers, Rotunno gave us a quick rundown of some of the exciting names that will be featured on the site in the coming weeks.
