Because when Instagram itself is throwing a Met Gala after-party, where else would we go?
After serving as an official sponsor of the main event, everyone's favorite photo-sharing platform kept the stories going well into the night with a lavish affair held, fittingly enough for the evening's "Gilded Glamour" theme, at a landmark Gilded Age mansion on the Upper East Side.
The sprawling James B. Duke House's already-opulent interiors were given some sumptuous, and obviously, very Insta-worthy, decorative updates for the event, with neon light installations, bold florals, and plush lounge seating complementing the crystal chandeliers and stunning château-inspired architecture throughout.
If Bridgerton, The Gilded Age, and Gossip Girl ever had a crossover episode, we imagine it would look something like the scene at this party.
With a guest list made up of the who's who of the social and #socialmedia set, the soiree also served up plenty of stylish people-watching moments.
Eva Chen, the Vice President of Fashion & Shopping Partnerships at Instagram, was there of course, joined by society staples Derek Blasberg, Lili Buffett, Sarah Hoover, Allison Sarofim, Vogue's Allie Michler, Lilah Ramzi and Elise Taylor, and designers-about-town Rebecca Hessel Cohen, Misha Nonoo, and Aurora James. The Mayor of New York himself, Eric Adams, also made the rounds in his statement-making tuxedo.
Other notable guests included Awkwafina, Sabrina Carpenter, Teddy Quinlivan, Ellen von Unwerth, drag icon Aquaria, and social media stars Remi Bader, Léna Mahfouf, and Nelson Tiberghien and Isabelle Chaput, a.k.a. Young Emperors.
It DJ duo Coco and Breezy provided pumped-up tunes while attendees sipped, elbow-rubbed, and Instagrammed their way through the mansion's maze of regal rooms, which each had their own distinct theme and atmosphere (including one parlor overgrown with greenery like a fairy tale forest).
For the fete's grand finale? A DJ appearance by Anderson .Paak followed by a surprise performance by SZA, which prompted cheers, singing, and, needless to say, a wave of phones swaying above the crowd.
