Loafing about in the grass, picnicking on the gorgeous grounds of The Glass House...
I mean, could there be any chicer way to spend a summer afternoon?
This past Saturday, hundreds of stylish New Yorkers and fabulous Connecticut locals flocked to the beloved New Canaan property to celebrate the historic site's annual Summer Party. Dressed in their chicest sunny ensembles, guests roamed about, exploring the buffet of beauty and entertainment on offer.
On the menu? Lawns, wildflower meadows, a secret peony garden, a pond straight out of a pastoral painting and a circular pool just begging you to take a dip. Oh, and you know, an amazing collection of 20th century paintings and sculptures!
In between the search for the perfect picnic spot - note: the answer is most obviously the floating pavilion - the artsy crowd poured over the hundred plus art treasures hung tucked inside the auction tent, including works by Anni Albers, Louise Bourgeois, Nan Goldin, Jeff Koons, Herb Ritts, Catherine Opie, Tom Otterness and Cindy Sherman.
Music by DJ Alexandra Richards, An exclusive al fresco shopping experience curated by Max Mara, a playful scavenger hunt designed by Victorinox, the unveiling of contemporary artist Derrick Adams's limited-edition sculpture, Cool Down Pop (RBG) 2023, and a well-worth-the-wait-in-line gelato and sorbet cart were simply the cherries on top to the must-attend event.
