For a select group of Upper East Side art patrons and gala girls, the seasonal social calendar revolves around one particularly glamorous New York institution: The Frick Collection. Last night, the masterpiece-filled mansion played host to its annual Autumn Dinner, a stunning event that marks the start of the fall fundraising season and allows for the rare opportunity to dine in the museum's iconic picture galleries. Needless to say, it's a can't-miss affair.
Dressed in their festive black-tie best, well-heeled attendees rubbed elbows in the museum's famous indoor courtyard, posing for photos and sipping bubbly in front of the fountain. The guest list featured a healthy mix of fashionistas (like Charlotte Bickley, Samantha Angelo, and Pari Ehsan), stylish philanthropists (Amory McAndrew, Julia Loomis), and loyal Frick patrons, including the night's honoree, Margot Bogert, who retired as board chairman this June, after 12 years of service.
Once dinner seatings began in the three signature galleries, guests were in for a breathtaking scene. Dramatically lit, bursting with fall florals, and complemented by the works of Rembrandt, Vermeer, Goya, and more, the tablescapes seemed plucked straight out of a Gilded Age Edith Wharton novel. For an evening that raises over $1 million, we wouldn't expect anything less.
