Last week, Johnny Sibilly (Hacks, Pose) hosted the 12th annual Oasis summer party benefitting the Ali Forney Center, the nation’s largest LGBTQ homeless youth and young adult housing and services organization. Hosted at the Misshapes-curated event space, Creator House, the colorful bash featured a performance from Nicky Doll of RuPaul’s Drag Race with music from Ty Sunderland, raising more than $100,000 for AFC.
Alexander Roque, president and executive director of AFC, gave an impassioned speech about the rising cases of homophobia and transphobia, and the importance of the work AFC has been doing during the pandemic.
The event brought out a rare mixture of the old guard fashion mavens and today’s top Instagram influencers. The well-heeled crowd included Michael Musto accompanied by Mickey Boardman, who happened to be wearing his new clothing line #mrmickey. Mickey’s outfit featured a print appropriately named paparazzi and featured photos of Mickey through the years snapped by Patrick McMullan (talk about outfit goals). Others in the throng included: Marinella Bar’s David Foote, Food Network’s Zac Young, Real Housewife of New York Leah McSweeney, and an influencer who goes by the nom de plume PetShop Boy (yes, really).
