Last night the Renaissance New York Midtown Hotel partnered with local Garment Center designers to hold a “Made in New York” Emerging Designer Showcase in celebration of New York Spring Fashion Week. The hotel will showcase local emerging fashion designers every Tuesday for six weeks, from 6-8 pm. Each week the hotel will offer a fashion-themed specialty cocktail menu illustrated by Nancy Bacich as the designers show their spring collections. Please see the designer line-up below.
-February 7 Showcase Kickoff: WXYZ, Mimi Plange, A-Morir
WXYZ an accessories brand offering a sculptured look for the body, inspired by science, art and math.
Mimi Plange refers to the line as “The Democratization of Luxury,” inspired by the modern American luxury sportswear, with an infusion of dark romance. Worn by Michelle Obama, Rihanna, Serena Williams among others.
A-Morir, the luxury eyewear line from designer Kerin Rose Gold, pioneered the trend of embellished eyewear. A-Morir sunglasses have been worn by celebrities Rihanna, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga and more.
-February 14: Rue Mercer: Pamela Semmache and Julie Luyindula combine modern New York style with their French refined heritage to create the ultimate shirt brand.
-February 21: Vanessa Lianne hand-forges each piece of jewelry using sustainably and ethically sourced metals, natural stones and diamonds.
-February 28: Nikki Chasin combines the ease of classic sportswear with playful textiles and thoughtful details.
-March 7: William Okpo: Sisters Darlene and Lizzy Okpo named their sportwear brand after their Nigerian father who passed along sartorial fearlessness and an eye for details.
-March 14: SAUNDER, founded by Emily Saunders, the sportswear line encapsulates the essence of femininity but with a quirky eclectic twist.
Evenings at Renaissance are curated by the hotel, creating unique experiences with local artists for hotel guests and locals. From performances featuring local musicians to food & wine tastings, there’s always something intriguing, inspiring and thought provoking happening at Renaissance New York Midtown Hotel.
