While the start of summer means beach trips to Montauk and the Rockaways, most people overlook the dire, and solvable condition of the world's oceans. Only 3% of oceans are protected, and many people and industries exploit it through over-fishing or waste disposal. Top model Lily Donaldson did her part to address the problems on Wednesday, by teaming up with Project 0 to host a fundraiser party at the Milk Studios penthouse.
The organization brings researchers, business leaders, celebrities, and experts, including Donaldson, to promote the cause and create solutions. At Milk, Donaldson brought out her friends including Harvey Weinstein, Georgina Chapman, and Miguel to enjoy cocktails in special environmentally friendly steel cups with proceeds going to the foundation. Both Alexandra Richards and Chelsea Leyland took turns spinning tunes, before singer Bernard Fowler took to the stage to perform to the crowd. But not before one of the other performers slowly removed his clothing until he was in a banana hammock, and then proceeded to rub sun tan lotion all over. All in the name of charity!
