Sparkly ball gowns, punch bowls, '80s music, and voguing? It's not a #tbt, it's the Lower Eastside Girls Club Spring Fling! The annual bash, held this year at the Bowery Hotel, had a prom night theme, and it was a truly magical and memorable night for so many. Honorary guests included the beautiful NYC actress Debi Mazar, Kim Hatchett, Patricia Field, fashionable twins TK Wonder and Cipriana Quann, and a special video by the KWEEN herself, Tyra Banks. The young girls of the club, who handmade beautiful corsages, kicked off the night with a step routine, followed by a soulful choir performance.
The LES Girls Club (LESGC) has been providing innovative, community-based holistic programs and services for girls and young women since 1996 when girls weren't allowed to the Boys Club (rude). The LESGC connects girls to healthy and successful futures, in a state of the art campus setting offering a safe haven and programs in the arts, sciences, leadership, health, and wellness. The benefit left us all with an unforgettable night and a powerful message: "We rise by lifting others."
